Admissions Guidelines

Admission to the Ed.D. program in special education is highly selective.   Applicants must have an excellent record of academic achievement and work experience in the field of special education or disability studies.  Prerequisite to beginning doctoral studies the student must complete course work in the following areas: statistics, psychology of exceptional children and a characteristics course in one of the following areas: learning disabilities, mental retardation or emotional disturbance.

Admissions requirements include current Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores (no older than 5 years), 2 copies of official transcripts from all institutions attended, 3 letters of recommendation, and a personal statement.
