The statement of purpose is where you get a chance to explain, in a compelling fashion, the nature of your interest in teaching in general, and in teaching social studies in particular. It is also the only part of your application that showcases your writing skills. The statement should be well considered and, of course, error free. We are hoping to get a sense of who you are as a person, what motivates you to teach, and what qualities you have that will make you an exemplary teacher.
Ed.D. applicants should describe their goals for advanced academic study, including potential research areas.
