OPI & WPT:
All students seeking certification in Bilingual/Bicultural certification are required to pass an Oral Proficiency Interview and a Written Proficiency Test in English and in the language of the students to be taught. These interviews are administered by ACTFL and can be taken by phone. To arrange an interview, email testing@languagetesting.com or find www.languagetesting.com on the Internet. You should schedule your interviews very early in your first semester so that you have some time for remediation if necessary. Call (914) 963-7110 to schedule the WPT.
Matriculation:
Please note that admission to this non-degree endorsement program does not guarantee admission into a degree program at the Graduate School of Education at some later date. To be admitted as a regular degree-seeking student at the GSE, all students must follow standard application procedures outlined on the website of the Rutgers University Office of Graduate and Professional Studies (http://gradstudy.rutgers.edu).
