What programs are available for people who have already finished their undergraduate degrees?

The M.Ed. in Social Studies Education, with New Jersey teaching certificate, is an approximately 45 credit post-baccalaureate program (the exact number of credits will depend on the relevance of a student's undergraduate credits to the program's requirements). The program generally takes students two years to complete, and results in a master’s degree and teaching credential in social studies education. If you intend to teach and don’t yet have a teaching credential, this is the program for you.

The M.Ed. in Social Studies Education without certificate is a 30 credit post-baccalaureate program resulting in a master’s degree only. Most students choosing this option already have a teaching certificate, and are interested in further study in social studies education. Many are actively teaching, and continue their teaching careers while attending the program.

The Ed.D. in Social Studies Education is a degree program intended for those wishing to pursue advanced study in the field of social studies education and conduct original, systematic research in the field.  Many graduates of the program have taken university and college professorships, and others have assumed supervisory roles in their school districts.
