Thursday,  May  8  2008

Benjamin Justice
Benjamin Justice, assistant professor of social studies education in the GSE department of Educational Theory, Policy, and Administration was awarded a Rutgers University Board of Trustees Research Fellowship for Scholarly Excellence as one the university’s most distinguished young faculty members.  He was one of seven awardees representing all three university campuses. The award is bestowed in recognition of outstanding scholarly accomplishments in his years at Rutgers, as documented in the evaluation that led to his recent promotion to Associate Professor. Specifically, he was recognized for his highly original, widely influential and socially significant research into the historic role of religion in American public schools.

The Fellowship carries with it a grant of $2,000 from the Trustees to assist in his academic efforts in the coming year.  The award was presented by President McCormick on May 7.
