Whether by car, bus, or on foot, you'll need to be able to get around Rutgers'
campuses and New Brunswick while you're here. Here's some information about the
options available to you:
Car
Bus
Train
On Foot
Whether you are a commuter or a resident at Rutgers, you'll need to know about
the department of Parking
and Transportation Services. This department assigns parking (and distribute
hang-tags and decals for your car), issues tickets for violations by vehicles
parked on University property, and operates the University bus service. On their
website, you'll find permit applications, information on traffic detours and lot
closings, and an opportunity to let the folks at P&T know how they're doing.
If you're asking yourself, "Where is that bus???", you need to check out the University
Bus Schedule. University buses are operated and scheduled by the department
of Parking and Transportation
Services. P&T also manages parking around Rutgers. You can find bus schedule
updates, and lots of other information at their website.
If you need to venture outside New Brunswick, bus service to the surrounding area
is available from NJ
Transit (800-772-2222 within NJ, 973-762-5100 out of state) and Suburban
Transit (800-222-0492).
The best way to get to New York City, Philadelphia, or the region's airports is
by train. New Brunswick's train station is located only two blocks from the GSE.
Service is available from NJ
Transit (800-772-2222 within NJ, 973-762-5100 out of state) via the Northeast
Corridor Line. Amtrak (800-USA-RAIL)
also makes stops in New Brunswick.
Okay, so there is no 'Pedestrian Transportation Department'. But, if you're new
to RU, you may not know how to get where you're going. To find a particular building
or see maps of the campuses, you should begin your search at the "Finding
Places" section of the Rutgers
University website. You can also search for people and events at Rutgers;
follow the "Search Rutgers" link on the Rutgers
University website. |
