President Richard McCormick has made the involvement of Rutgers University with PreK-12 school districts in New Jersey one of his administration's major priorities. President McCormick along with members of his administration Dr. Phillip Furmanski, Executive Vice President and Dr. Richard DeLisi, Dean of the Graduate School of Education created and established the Rutgers Institute for Improving Student Achievement (RIISA)in September 2005. At the same time, President McCormick appointed Dr. William Librera, former Commissioner of Education, to the position of Executive Director of RIISA. The mission of the Rutgers Institute for Improving Student Achievement(RIISA) is to provide guidance and support to districts as they address their needs for improving achievement of all students. Corporate affiliates and community partners will be invited to participate in this important work.



The New Jersey School Development Council (NJSDC) has joined Rutgers Institute for Improving Student Achievement (RIISA) at the Graduate School of Education.

The New Jersey School Development Council (NJSDC) has returned to the Graduate School of Education with RIISA. The NJSDC has a 50 year relationship with Rutgers University. Drs. Peter Bastardo & William Librera Invite You to become a member of the New Jersey School Development Council (NJ SDC). This year we are offering 4 targeted Instructional programs and several Study Council Group meetings to members.

The RIISA Network for Middle Grade Achievement is a consortium of schools and school districts. The mission of the RIISA Middle Grade Network is to prepare and support administrators, teachers and school counselors to address teaching and learning issues particular to students in grades 4-8.
