  Muneerah Higgs, a 2004 Fulbright Fellow and South Africa Study Tour participant was honored for her work integrating the South African experience into her teaching at Lawnside Elementary School.
NJ Schools Welcome South African Educators
  The newly dedicated Lawton C. Johnson Middle School in Summit NJ opens its doors to Claude de Jager and David Abrahams from Paarl, South Africa. Summit is one of several communities visited during a week's stay in New Jersey. The educators from Amstelhof Primary and Nabeelah Abrahams from Bergendal Primary School, shared ideas and friendship as part of the Rutgers South Africa Initiative.
We Salute: Brielle Language Arts Teachers Trish Emerson and Christin Collins
  Trish and Christin re-designed the curriculum this year based on their experiences in South Africa. They hosted the capstone event for their eighth grade students in March which has become an annual event open to the community.
