New Brunswick, NJ - Many of our former SAI Study Tour participants are active in education initiatives throughout the world. Get an update on some of their news below:
Christine Abrahams (SAI '08) is working on completing a novel Kia Kaha, a love story that weaves metaphysics, mythology, the supernatural, and pure adventure into a tapestry of courage, wit, and mystery. It is an inspirational tale of what can happen when you follow your heart and make your own destiny. It takes place in New Zealand, the US and South Africa. The novel is now available for purchase and ten-percent of its proceeds will be donated to Teboho Trust to enable the students to self-publish themselves.
Kimberly Borin (SAI '03) recently presented at the New Jersey School Counselor Association and the Hunterdon County School Counselor Association on Relaxation Strategies. In her talk she infused a lesson she designed called, “3 Breaths 4 Peace 2 Day!” The lesson highlighted simple strategies that can be used for school counselors, teachers, students and families to bring about a sense of peace for ourselves – and our world. Kimberly is currently a high school guidance counselor at North Hunterdon High School in Hunterdon County. She was recently named the Hunterdon County School Counselor of the Year for the 08-09 school year and also teaches Yoga outside of school. Kimberly is a proud graduate of the Ed.D. program in Social and Philosophical Foundations of Education at Rutgers University.
